During the life-span of the project, provision of Knowledge Management platform will help participation of agencies and communities across the state involved with the Project at various levels to share best practices, ideas, other publications etc. It is envisaged that the sharing of knowledge in various forms will happen through multiple collaboration tools such as document repository, blogs, wikis, forums and ‘ask an expert’.

The module will allow the following types of users to do the following activities:
  1. Normal Visitor
    1. Has only Read rights on all available content
    2. Search and download documents
  2. Registered User/Contributor
  3. Login and register
  4. View/Edit own Profile
  5. Upload image, video, documents
  6. Contribute to wikis, forums etc
  7. Search and download documents
  8. Add/edit/delete profiles
  9. Review all uploaded material/contribution
  10. Upload contents (self-approved)
    1. Project Director’s message
    2. Best Practice of the Month
  11. Edit/Approve/Reject the uploaded content before publishing.
  12. Search and download documents
  13. Super Admin/Moderator:
For external users, there will be provision for browsing through the system as a
  • Guest
  • Registered user

Self registration will be done through a web based form where the user will have to fill up certain data and will have to submit for approval and creation. There will be an approval workflow post which the requested user will be a registered user of the system. The approver will be a single designated person (or a group of two/three persons) from the MACP Team. The approval task will appear in the pending tasks [My tasks] area of the portal (portlet) of the designated person of the MACP Team.

For MACP users, a request has to be sent to the System Administrator & a designated person from the MACP Team for creation of a profile. The requested roles will be approved by the core team and the Administrator will create the user in the system.

While registration the user will have the option to choose to receive alerts and notifications on certain subject areas. This will mean that the user has subscribed to receiving information in the form of alerts on the selected topics. These alerts will be nothing but mail alerts.
